Damnoen Saduak combined with the River Kwai and the Death Railway

Instead of the railway market, this day trip pairs the floating market with the bridge and the railway at Kanchanaburi, about 130 km west of Bangkok.

The short answer

Damnoen Saduak can be combined with a trip to the River Kwai and a ride on the Death Railway. The combination bookable on this site lists 11 hours, includes a Thai lunch in Kanchanaburi and ends at about 19:00 on Khao San Road, without a transfer back to your hotel.

A combination saves a second early start, at the cost of a longer day. After the market, the Kanchanaburi part adds hours on the road, and the day ends in the evening on Khao San Road rather than at your hotel.

What guests wrote about the River Kwai combination

The three-star review liked the guides and the driver but was not told about the long drive to the first stop and found the time at each stop badly split.

“Really enjoyed the floating markets, death railway and lunch was amazing. Both guides and driver were fantastic,”
Russell · United Kingdom · October 2025 Damnoen Saduak, River Kwai and Death Railway with lunch
“Picked up at our hotel by minibus on time but we weren't told it would take 2.5 hours to get to the first stop, the floating market (I guess we should have checked Google maps!). The market was good, an interesting experience but we were there for 3 hours, which was way too long! […] It then took another 2 hours to get to the Bridge on the River Kwai, we were only allowed 30 minutes there before then getting back on the minibus to the Death Railway. […] The driver & tour guides were great but the timings & content need to be reviewed.”
